The state of Idaho has a delayed statute of limitations for sexual abuse suits. This means that you have 5 years after you turn 18 to file a sexual abuse or a clergy abuse case. If you were 14 when the sexual abuse occurred, you would have until the age of 23 to file your claim.

Idaho recognizes the Discovery Rule so this means that the SOL begins to run when the victim discovers or should have discovered the injury and its causal relationship to the abuse.

In Idaho, there is No Retroactivity of this statute. The statute explicitly applies prospectively.
